Gone for the Holidays!

We made it safely to Utah. We luckily were able to leave earlier than we had thought due to nasty weather and a fellow employee who decided to work for me so we could leave. 2 hours after we got on the road they closed i-84 and we were well past the storm coming in. It was white knuckles for some of the trip as we went through Hood River, white out blizzard conditions. Water freezing to the windshield wipers and plows blowing snow everywhere. We were almost side swiped by a plow who saw a little car at the last minute and was able to swerve and miss him, barely. We luckily were paying well enough attention to make it safely out of that one. We only had one other scary moment when a suburban suddenly came up on a semi blowing snow all over, she slammed on her brakes and in turn made us slam on ours and skid all over the road. My heart just about jumped out of my skin. After we got around the plows though it was smooth sailing for the most part. Spencer got car sick so we enjoyed the aroma of well you know what the rest of the trip! We made great time considering the slow down through the gorge! Thank you Heavenly Father for making sure that we made it safely to Utah for Christmas!

I'm so glad to hear you made it safely! What a scary couple of moments you had. I pray the weather is better for you on your return trip. We are all iced into our homes right now with a 2 inch layer of ice on everything and more snow piling up on it tonight. I'm glad you got out while you could!
