Happy New Year Chinese Style!!

Tonight we went to a Chinese New Years Party at our friends house! It was a great turnout! This is he second year that we went and we had a blast. Everyone brings a chinese dish to share, we sit and eat and talk and then break out the karaoke! We had a great time!

This year we learned about our Chinese zodiac! Here they are!

This is for me, Lori:

The Year Of The Snake

1917, 1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001

People born in the Year of the Snake are deep. They say little and possess great wisdom. They never have to worry about money; they are financially fortunate. Snake people are often quite vain, selfish, and a bit stingy. Yet they have tremendous sympathy for others and try to help those less fortunate. Snake people tend to overdo, since they have doubts about other people's judgment and prefer to rely on themselves. They are determined in whatever they do and hate to fail. Although calm on the surface, they are intense and passionate. Snake people are usually good-looking and sometimes have marital problems because they are fickle. They are most compatible with the Ox and Rooster.

And Shule:

Year Of The Tiger

1914, 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998

Tiger people are sensitive, given to deep thinking, capable of great sympathy. They can be extremely short-tempered, however. Other people have great respect for them, but sometimes tiger people come into conflict with older people or those in authority. sometimes Tiger people cannot make up their minds, which can result in a poor, hasty decision or a sound decision arrived at too late. They are suspicious of others, but they are courageous and powerful. Tigers are most compatible with Horses, Dragons, and Dogs

The Great Flood!!

Last Saturday I got a text message at 1:00 am from my hubby saying the hot water heater flooded the downstairs. Yipee!!! Just what I wanted to hear! NOT!! No shower after being in a smokey bar cooking all night? I wasn't about to brave a freezing cold shower! Shule did, and he didn't recommend it to anyone...really? Well we went to church in all our stinky goodness and then straight after that, Shule went and got us a new hot water heater and we're good to go!! Thanks to a fellow employee and her husband we were able to put it in with little difficulty! A few days of sucking out carpets and blowing fans to dry the floors we are back in business!!!

A total LOSER!

I feel like a total loser! I haven't been blogging as of late! I have lots of pics and no computer to download them on. My computer doesn't see any usb and hubby's computer decided to take a dive. So, I'm pictureless.!! :(

January has been a busy month! Here's a quick catch up!

January 12th was Shule's birthday! We took him to Mcrae's (a really yummy breakfast house!! to celebrate) It wasn't much of a birthday celebration. He got one present from us, which was only a tool set... Sorry hunny! (but he had decided he wanted a pair of DR. Marten's, and so we were gonna go buy them together, but now he doesn't know if he wants them...lol) I had to work Saturday night so Sunday we made brownies and sang happy birthday to him!

January 19th we had a big birthday bash at the pub for 5 January birthday's, including Shule's and Kari's. We had a band come in, had lots of yummy appetizers, and a big birthday cake from costco. I was able to take 4 hours off during the time of the band and hang out with my hubby. (Thanks Greg)!

January 22nd Joseph and Jaren celebrated their 6th birthday! Well we actually threw a surprise party for them at Chuck E Cheeses the night before with some friends and Grammy and Papa! They sure were surprised and had a great time! They got lots of fun presents and enjoyed themselves! Spencer got a trial run on his own birthday cupcake! He ate the whole darned thing and stayed relatively clean! I have pics!

Saturday the 26th, we celebrated our neice and cousin, Karley, first birthday. She enjoyed her ginormous cupcake and downed the whole thing! She sure is a cutie!

The boys have been sick ever since. They have been home this whole week with sickness. I think they are finally rounding the corner and will be able to return to school next week. YIPEE!!!

Sunday the 27th we had family dinner out at Tonya's house. It's nice to have family dinner once a month. The cook subs for Greg that Sunday and mom and dad can escape and we have one time a month where we can all get together and hang out. With Dad working everyday at the pub, mom working at the auction, and helping out at the pub, Greg working Sunday and Monday nights, and me working Tuesday through Saturday it's nice to be able to gather together and relax! It's also the time of the month that we celebrate everyone's birthdays. This month is a busy one with celebrating...Shule, Kari, Joseph, Jaren, Aayla, Karley, and Jayden(which actually isn't until today) but it was close enough to February! We all had a good time and yummy food! :)

We've had a few days of snow flurries and the kids have loved it. On Monday the kids had a snow day from school. Tuesday night it was coming down pretty hard in Boring, so mom, May(a coworker) went outside and had a snowball fight. It was cool. By the end of the night there was an inch or so of snow. As I was driving home which is only 10 minutes away, it stopped snowing and there was nothing even on the ground. Wierd how that works.!

Anyway...enough blabbing. I will try and figure out someway to get some pictures on here!
